Lookie this

Check this out: exciting moog slim phatty at Musicians friend. Now, why am I telling you bout it? I threw my old electric keyboard out a couple of weeks ago. :( The th8ing just would not turn on. I had let it sit in th corner for a year or so, hoping that it would heal itself. I finally gathered every power adapter I had in the house, tested it on all of them, and made the pronouncement. I really enjoyed that thing when I made time to play it.

New yarn storage

So, I cleaned my room. I went through all my craft stuff. I put all my yarn in a storage bench. And folks, if I want to move that mess again, I will have to find vehicle lifts, because it is a lot of heavy stuff. I need to get crafting. The good news is that this semester is almost over, and soon I will be able to do just that. And cook. And clean. And breathe. Breathing is good.

Will you look at this?

This was a 200 yard ball of sockweight that I left on the couch while I went into my room. Apparently, my dog likes yarn. I;m counting my blessing that 1) I had a second ball. 2) He didn’t eat the needles or the scarf that’s on them. But dang, that was a mess! And I had to throw too much of it out. Perhaps I can interest him in a hobby besides knitting. Maybe some cigars information…I hear you don’t need opposable thumbs for that!

Been a long time

Wow, seems like I disappeared when summer session started and just forgot to come back! I’m closing in on the end of fall semester and finally feel like I can catch my breath. I may be in error, since I have about 5 projects due next week. Regardless, I cast on a scarf last night, and I knit on it while watching Bones. Yes, I know Bones wasn’t on last night, but I can hook up the computer to the tv with my HDMI cable and watch whenever. Which is awesome, because I hate live tv. Except for election night and the Super Bowl.

So, how are things with you guys? What have you watched lately? I mean knit! What have you KNIT lately?

Drumsticks

Here’s the $64 question. What did you think of when you read that title? Personally, I think of fried chicken. And I recommend a deep fat fryer set at 360 degrees for exactly 21 minutes, if that’s what you thought of, too.

If, on the other hand, you thought of music when I said drumsticks, I have no recommendation. I understand the purpose of drums, and I appreciate all they add to music, but this girl ain’t got no rhythm a’tall.

Addendum

oops, sorry. Realized my last post was just a wee bit sexist! I acknowledge that G.I Joe could use some new military apparel, and I will admit that he is not that much bigger than Barbie. But I don’t want to fiddle with knitting all the pockets that actual BDUs require. In fact, all I really want to do is sit here by the fan and READ. Is this a problem?

Dang!

I think it has been several weeks since I have actually touched yarn. Pretty crazy, right? First, it was “busy with school.” Then it was “too dang hot.” Come to think of it, it’s still too dang hot, even sitting here with central air conditioning. I desperately want to finish Hocks, but I think it would be unbearable to work on anything larger than a pair of riding pants for a Barbie doll. Maybe in October, right?

Good morning, Afternoon

Hello there! I am thrilled to announce that summer session is over for me. Or will be as soon as my last grade posts. HA! Nothing brings out mild OCD like waiting for the last grade before one will allow summer to actually begin, right?

So, I plan to do a lot of reading, writing, exercising, and cleaning over the next couple of months. What have you guys got going on? Who wants to add some new tunes to apple ipods and walk off ten pounds with me? Come on, it will be fun. Ish.
