Online Craft Club Show and Tell #22

First off, for thise who were holding your breath, we watched Sliders and Survivor. Then I let dh sleep in front of Without a Trace. I didn’t get much knitting done, I was baby holding instead. And then surfing.

But! Here is [tag]Fantasy Ride[/tag] completed, making the second FO of 2008!IMG 0116

I’m really pleased with how this came out, and once I can spend money on crafts again (just 10 completed projects to go now!!), I’ll frame it and hang it over the loveseat until TheClone comes home to claim it.

Next up, the [tag]Wallaby[/tag]:
IMG 0115

The body is complete, and the sleeves are almost halfway there. I’m doing them flat because I lacked dpns in the correct sizes, and guess what?? I can’t spend money on craft supplies!! It won’t take long to seam them, though, and I don’t mind seaming anyway, though I’m no idiot and my first choice is always going to be ITR.

The Wallaby is turning out to be a pretty quick knit considering how little time I have spent on it so far. Well, ok, the Wallaby in a size 4 is pretty quick :)

Here’s how to play:

Take a picture of your current project, whatever that happens to be. Or maybe one you recently finished. Or the materials for the one you are about to start. Let’s say materials for a project in whatever state it happens to be in at the time you snap it. On Friday, post the picture and tell us about your project. What you did, or what you are going to do. How much you are enjoying it, or hating it. You know–show and tell.

Okay, I’m cheating. Sorry. But I have started the back-stitching, and I don’t want to show it half back-stitched, because teh difference is just amazing, and that’s how I am with cross-stitch, and I’m sorry. I guess this week is more about trick photography than the project.

IMG 0097

Please forgive me. Next week, you can see it as an FO and maybe get a glimpse of the wallaby, too!

Online Craft Club Show and Tell #20

Yep, Friday again. This time, I wasn’t shocked. I looked at the calendar when I was trying to figure out when I was getting paid so I could pay bills, and then I applied that knowledge to my crafting, LOL! I did notice that Alli beat me posting this morning. She’s made a perky little Joseph’s bag.

I worked again on Fantasy Ride. Here’s what it looked like this morning.

For a refresher, here’s what it looked like last week:

and before that

As if you needed the captioning, LOL. I am pretty sure the pictures tell the tale here. Just click to see them full size. I really want to push and finish this, but I also want to finish the wallaby while Drama can still wear it. Decisions, decisions.

It’s Friday again already! How the heck does that happen? Yeah, I know I say that almost every week, but dang! It’s always such a shock!

This week, I worked on Fantasy Ride, and got quite a bit done. I did have to do some ripping, because I found a mistake that was well over a decade old. I couldn’t completely fix it without doing a whole lot more ripping that I was willing to do, but I don’t think it will be horribly noticeable in the end. Here’s what it looks like now, and remember I am working across the whole top, and not just one quarter.

I had hoped to have this finished in January, but it’s looking iffy. OTOH, I not only finished the kitchen and dining room this week, I also went through the bathroom, and cleaned my deskal area. I think I’ll move into my room over the weekend, but I might make another pass on the bathroom instead.

While you are here, check out my contest post. I am giving away a copy of Glamour Knits at Home, and entry instructions can be found here.

It’s Friday again! How does it happen that Friday comes around again so quickly? It’s crazy. Crazy, I say.

At any rate, I’ve been busy again this week. Here you can see the wallaby. The pocket is attached, and I have about half an inch before the yoke. I’ll be making sleeves shortly, IF I have the proper size dpns. Determining not to spend money on crafts until I have completed 12 projects may present some dilemmas. If I need needles can I borrow them from you?
IMG 0011

And here is Fantasy Ride. I really tried last night to get this corner finished, but I gave up at quarter til one and went to bed.
IMG 0009

Now, I know you can see that this is not the normal level of craftiness you usually see here on Fridays. But I have a reason, and I can illustrate it for you with a picture. I am in the throes of a whole house purge. We are downsizing, getting rid of what we don’t use. Yesterday, for instance, we moved the craft stuff out of the bottom of the china hutch so we could use it for actual dining room type stuff. It was left in there from when that hutch was in the living room. This picture illustrates just why I don’t need to spend more money on crafts. This is a stack of books, magazines and scrapping supplies, and it’s not even all of the scrapping stuff. Yeah. I love to make stuff, and making stuff takes a lot of stuff. But not this much stuff.
IMG 0010

I have got to weed through all the mess and use it/lose it/plan it. Even a gold anklet can feel like a ball and chain if it’s heavy enough, ykwim.

I’ve been a busy, busy girl this week. And I’ve also made time to craft. :)

You remember the hat, right?
IMG 1424

And then I picked up the Fantasy Ride and came within a couple-three hours of finishing that lower right corner.
IMG 1455

And then I found the Wonderful Wallaby pattern. Yesterday, as soon as I had done some cleaning of the leftover mess (yeah I know I said I was going to finish that, but, it’s the Wallaby. Knitting crack, see? ) and written lesson plans for Spidey, I cast on one for Drama.
IMG 1454

She asked me first thing this morning if it was done yet. Clearly the child has a warped view of the knitting process. So, what have you been making?

Online Craft Club Show and Tell #16

Oh, I had a mini goal on my way to my main goal of 12 projects this year, and I met it!
I wanted to get the lower left quadrant of Fantasy Ride completed and I finished it last night! Exciting times, I tell you! It was really iffy, because as I was stitching along yesterday evening, the knitting bug bit. I mean, I was jonesin’ for the needles, ya’ll. It was bad in here! But I held myself back by pattern gazing instead. I am thinking about doing something like Sweetness for Spidey’s mal-fitting sweater. I am thinking about PrepSchool for a friend of mine (yeah, Ted, that means you!) But I am also considering the lower right quadrant of this piece. Decisions, decisions. And what I really, really, really want to do is finish Sonnet. Except I am beginning to think I ate the yarn in my sleep. Perhaps it is time to file a claim on my home insurance. What exactly is the value of a sweater months in the making, though?

Well, you are totally not going to believe this. Or maybe you will, since you read this blog and know my scatter-brained tendencies….. I had planned to show you a sweater with almost two sleeves. Diva had a doc appointment yesterday, and I was just sure I would be able to knock the most of that second sleeve out. So I was gathering up my things and I have lost the last ball of yarn for Sonnet. Now, I know it is in this house somewhere, unless I took it with me to see Grandmother, which I may have, I am not sure because that whole week is just a blur, and if I did, it is in Mama’s car. I hope. In the meantime though, I can’t finish it, so I am looking at my WIPs and wondering which one I want to tackle first. Or perhaps, I will spend this week playing with make-up, since I now have enough to fill the smallest travelpro case. At any rate, I want to see what you are working (or not working) on. Show me!
