The Wednesday Beading Report

I’ve spent quite a bit of time between last Wednesday and today trying to decide how I want to go about stocking stuff in the store, and trying to balance my desire to share my craftiness with you, and the weird way I feel when I go on and on and on about how much I enjoyed making something, and how wonderful it is, and OH BY THE WAY, it’s for sale. So. I am going to continue to tell you about stuff, and probably in great detail. But not if it’s for sale. If it is for sale, I’ll just throw up a thumbnail at the end of the Wednesday post, no matter what it’s about, to let you know that I have added stuff to the jewelry page.

Accordingly, I made this necklace and bracelet set this week:

I’m totally loving how it came out. I used part of a package of Blue Moon Natural Pink Mix beads (these packages are huge, and go a long, long way. You can see how far they go if you look at this picture and the thumbs you’ll eventually find below–HUGE). I also used a package of “frosting” glass chips in lavender (lavender??, they look pink to me! and again, they go a long way.) These are also made by Blue Moon. Finally, I used some seed beads, from Global Nomad, Brown Opalescent Rainbow, also made by….Blue Moon. Apparently, I like Blue Moon Beads, LOL!

I am having great fun mixing and matching the colors and textures of the beads, ya’ll. It’s so interesting to see how the pieces are so different even though they have so many common elements.

Ok, added to the store this week:

Give me an hour or so to get that page polished up, ok?Excuse me. Restart that clock, I’ve had a wee photopress vomit experience.

The Wednesday Stocking: Pink Jewelry Set

Well, Ang. says she doesn’t wear jewelry. And Mama says my vision was different from her’s and so she bought another set of pink beads to make up for herself. That means these pieces that I showed you yesterday are for sale.

Here is a view of how the necklace looks on my back. It goes too low to show on my front, LOL! Do not laugh at my moles, or my freckles or my lily white skin. Or my sunburnt neck, It is forbidden!

You can click these pictures to make them big, and then click again to make them huge, so you can see a very detailed view. The necklace is 24 inches long, triple stranded and the price is $24 for it. The bracelet is 8 inches double-stranded, and the price is $7. The set can be purchased for $30, and I can make matching dangle ear rings if you’d like for an additional $7. Shipping is an additional dollar for each piece, and I will refund the difference if the actual shipping is less than the cart calculates by more than $1. I will use USPS first class shipping, with a padded envelope.

It’s going to become a custom set, and I will be listing some custom jewelry slots after I get this order filled.

Baby Bottoms By CassKnits!

collage Some of you may recognize this photo as the collage that appeared for so long at the top of the Holy Sheep Everything Pattern. If you are reading this blog because you found it when HSY was around, I want to tell you how very grateful Carla and I both were for the support and patronage of that business. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we hated to close the doors, but life just got too crazy there for a bit.

Anyway! I’m pleased to offer the old HSY Everything pattern under a brand new name: Baby Bottoms by CassKnits! But Carla, if you decide to join me again, I’ll change it right on back!

E-book for Baby Bottoms by CassKnits! Includes instructions for soaker, shorts, capris, and pants (psssst! We include all gauges too!) All you need in one easy e-book, and suitable for all knitters, from novice to advanced.

Question: “How do I use this pattern?”
Answer: The Baby Bottoms by CassKnits! e-book is broken down for you into three chapters by the gauge of your chosen yarn.

Question: “What is gauge? And how do I choose which gauge pattern I need?”
Answer: Simply put, gauge is the number of stitches per inch one obtains with a given combination of yarn and needles. With various yarn gauges you can create lightweight items for day use, or with thicker yarn and larger needles, a garment suited for even the heaviest wetting baby.

Question: “Once I know what gauge I want to knit in, how do I find what it is I want to make (soaker, shorts, pants)?”
Answer: Just turn to the chapter for the gauge you’ve chosen, and follow the directions! Its THAT easy! The Baby Bottoms by CassKnits! pattern is unique in that you can cast on your yarn intending to make a soaker, but then decide to make pants, even after you’ve already started knitting!

Question: “What if I need help?”
Answer: I’m here to help you! Just click the little email icon right here on this site!
