sticks, beads and strings
make wonderful, beautiful things

I am officially making one. With my crafty stuff. For this weekend. I’m off Sunday and Monday, and by golly, I am going to have something to show for it. Like a finished BSJ, a finished Carrick, and possibly a good start on a puzzle. I’m going to do it right here at home, in the very middle of all the hustle and bustle that is my life.

Hold me to it. We make time for the things that are important to us, right? Nurturing my creative side is important. I keep saying that, but I don’t do anything about it. If I’m not careful, I’m going to end up with raisins instead of juicy grapes on my vine. Yeah, weird metaphor, but it makes sense to me. Grapes imply choices, options: raw, juice, jelly, wine, alone, in fruit cocktail. Raisins are raisins, and about the only thing you can do with them is put them in hot water to plump them up a bit or eat them straight from the box where they stick to your teeth. Why not keep your grapes to begin with?
