More Big Girl Knits: Review and GiveAway

Let me tell you, the gals have done it again. I got my hands on the book 2 days ago, and I have already picked out three projects that I want to make. There is one in here, the Susie Hoodie, it’s a cross between a swing coat and a hoodie, and it has such wonderfully cable-y cables on the edges. I am totally making that for myself. I even have the yarn for it already! And the sweater on the front cover? That’s a must have right there, though I am pretty sure I don’t have the yarn for it. The Hot Cocoa Jacket, that double breasted piece of loveliness? Likewise. And the Goddess Shawl? Ditto. Okay, apparently I meant four, not three. Whatever. And Country has her eye on a couple as well. Though if she thinks she gets the first Susie Hoodie, she’s got another think coming.
Oh my. I think I just sorta committed to TWO Susie Hoodies. *GULP*
It’s a great book, and just as in the last one, Jillian Moreno and Amy R. Singer give you the whys and how to’s you need to design your own better fitting garments. My TBK(nit) pile is rapidly reaching the proportions of my TBR pile, and this is a very bad thing. Or a good thing, depending on how much housework I can avoid over the next decade. More Big Girl Knits will be hitting the book store shelves next Tuesday, but! Hahaha, you knew there was a but, didn’t you? Yep, you can win a copy right here. The contest will start when I hit publish, and will run through midnight April 6th. I’ll announce the winner via random number on Monday the 7th. You can get an entry by commenting on this post. You can get another entry by “stumbling” this post. (You can use the button right under the post (or your toolbar) to do that.) You can get two more entries by writing about this give away on your own blog with a link back to this post. And let’s throw in an experimental entry method: if you are a member of a crafty type forum, and you post about this giveaway with a link back, you’ll get another entry. You’ll need to come back and let me know you’ve done that by leaving a link to your forum post in the comments.
If you have never commented on this blog before, then your comment will be moderated. I’ll approve it as soon as I get back to the keyboard
I think that’s enough fine print, let’s get started!

Ooh that almost makes me wish I knew how to knit! My best friend DOES know how to knit, however, and I know she would love that book!
Stumbled. Now, if I win, will you teach me how to knit?
Sounds like a terrific book!
You don’t have to enter me into the book giveaway, but I wanted to let you know that I posted about your contest on WiKnit, my knitting contest blog.
Good luck with your contest!
I’m here from WiKnit… and I LOVE Big Girl Knits!! (Pick me!! Pick me!!)

btw, one of the gals in my local knitting group, I THINK, has a design in this book. I forgot it was coming out and didn’t ask her about the last time I saw her. Now I need to remember to ask!
Ooooooooooh! Me please! I’ve been waiting for this book to come out!
And I’ve stumbled and added a link to my site. Will mention the contest in Monday’s post.
I stumbled! Never saw that before – interesting.
Anyway, even before I got fat I needed these books. As a 4′10″ curvy powerdwarf, nothing ever fit me off the rack. Now that I’ve got extra padding it’s even worse. LOVE the first book, waiting to afford the second. Thanks so much for holding this contest. I love your conversational tone.
I’ve been looking forward to this book — thanks for the great contest!

I enjoy your site, found it through Wardrobe Refashion, and would like to be entered in your contest for the Big Girls Knit book. I don’t have a blog and am mostly a lurker to all the things I’m interested in-knitting, crochet and sewing. Thanks , Martha
Dying to try knitting something from the Big Girls – for myself!
Thanks for the chance to win : )
love your blog – first time visitor. Fascinated by blogs, especially when they involve knitting! I find the whole process soothing and interesting and I am getting a lot of socks made. Taking care of a handicapped 12 year old girl and she watches me knit. Problem is I know what she does to knits- she loves to unravel things! She does have knitted leg and arm warmers now tho in several colorways.

I just saw the book this weekend, and already found the sweater I Cannot Refuse (the cabled hoodie cardi). I posted a link back to the contest in my blog, but I sort of hope no one follows it. Better odds for me, then.
Pick me, I’m poor!

Stumbled.
I can’t wait to see this book. If the tips are as good as the original BGK then it will be worth every penny.

The book is getting a fair bit of discussion there, so I’m sure there are lots of people who would like to win a copy !
I’ve been looking forward to this coming out!
I’m a big girl. I never get to knit for myself, partly because the idea of adjusting those *itty bitty* patterns drives me off. I would love a copy of this book!
Wow, I’ve been looking at this book, I love the first one, but have been holding out on this one, since I’m on kind of a book diet… Glad I got in here in time to enter
Stumbling it too
Enter me! Enter me!! YAY!! I stumbled it, too!
Please enter me. I have only recently been exposed to this book but love the concept, not all of us are a size two.
I am right there with you. I love so many of the things I have seen in this book. I love the hoodie. I want the hoodie. If I don’t win this book, I will have to go out and buy it.

What a wonderful surprise to come home to after a tiring business trip! I’ve only had time to flip through the book briefly but I think I like the patterns in this one even more than the first one.
Thanks so much!
