Felting? FUN!

My grand plans for tonight are to sit in front of the tv with my family and knit on the Wallaby until the body and sleeves are joined. It seems like forever since I have knit on it, but it’s really only been a couple of days. Oh, I guess before I can do that I have to finish a little internet work, and then see about supper.

070965 mdIn the meantime, let’s talk about another new book! I do like new books, don’t you? This one is I <3 Felt by Kathleen Taylor. It includes “33 eye-popping projects for the inspired knitter”. I have to say, this book is colorful. The hot pink color is just a fore-taste of the riotous color inside. Way more than stripes, Taylor has us creating fair-isle and intarsia as well as cables and shaped embellishments, and throwing it all in the washer to shrink and mat it on purpose. From the not-so-basic bags to grand garments, the projects in this book are as unique as they are colorful. If you are familiar with Knit One, Felt Two, then you have some idea what to expect, and if not, then the clear instructions and numerous pictures will be a great introduction!

Unfortunately for me, I am just about out of feltable wool, and given my self-imposed spending hiatus, it will be a few months before I can use this book….maybe. I’ll have to dig through and see what I actually have that I don’t have plans for :)
