A Timely Post

The mantel clock Dh and I received for a wedding gift (lo, these 15 years ago) is in desperate need of replacement. It’s been dropped and hot glued and the time adjustment knob is missing, and the movement is no longer straight, and honestly, the clock is such a mess that if it were not a wedding gift, it would have long ago hit the trash can. But it’s practically sacred, and I might as well have an Indian Cow in the living room and be thinking barbeque as to actually toss it, ykwim? Unless I can replace it with something we both really like, and I saw a clock today that may qualify.

635 138Our perfect clock must 1)be classically styled and 2)have real actual numbers on the face (the larger the better) 3)fit on the entertainment center or on the doll cabinet beside it and 4) have a pleasant chime if here is a chime at all I think this one I have selected fits the bill, don’t you? Not only does it have high visual appeal, but it plays Ave Maria. Not surprisingly, it’s one of the lovely Howard Miller clocks. Go ahead and click the picture–it’s linked to the description page.

I read on the Clocks Blog that 1-800-4CLOCKS.com is having a contest to find the Best and Most Interesting Wall or Mantel Clocks. Perhaps I could send in a picture of my old sad clock as a joke, but I am not sure I am ready to be laughed at to that extent. And what if they read this and send an actual cow?
