Silver Bells

Silver Bells, Silver Bells
It’s Christmas time in the city

How’s your Christmas preparation going? Mine is…not. I have the shopping pretty much done, such is it’s going to be. I blogged earlier that it’s going to be a simpler Christmas, and having settled that takes a lot of weight off my mind. Sometimes it’s about making the best of limited resources, yk? Like silver. You know demand now outstrips supply, and that’s causing silver to become more valuable. I’m hoping that the same principle will apply with my children. I am so tired of picking up or tripping over their clothes and toys it’s not even pretty. Perhaps if they have less it will become more precious, ykwim?

I’m even thinking the same thing might apply to knitting and yarn. Don’t freak out, be patient and listen a minute. I have a huge stash of yarn, and yet it takes me forever to knit something. I have so many projects going on, it’s pure silly. An embarrassment of riches. And yet, there are people out there, who have only enough yarn on hand for a project or two, and yet they turn out more FOs than I do. They prioritize, they concentrate, they treat their time and yarn like precious commodities, and they invest them wisely. I really believe I could knit for a solid year without having to buy an ounce of yarn. I’ll be debating on committing to that or not between now and the end of the year.

So back to the not part: I still have to get the house cleaned, and go through clothing bins and make a spot for the tree, and all that. Please don’t think I am totally lax. My decorations will stay up until mid-January because that’s when my extended family will be here for Christmas celebrations. That’s why I am not motivated to put it all out just yet. Diva has already put some things out though, and the rest will probably be done on the 16th. Not that I plan to leave the bins until then ;)

Oh my! I better get on the little scarf ornaments, huh? I think all that yarn is in my big yarn box. Hehehe, I’ll have to “mine” for it. Yep, right back to the silver. I’m so punny I slay myself.
