Cass Knits!

And also, shopping

October 23, 2007 at 1:56 pmTag: Shopping

In addition to the waiting room stuff, I’ve also been shopping. In fact, I shopped Sunday until my everything hurt. I went out and got the stuff I need for a church party next Sunday, and also some shoes for the girls. I looked at shoes for me, but refrained after my huge shoe splurge this spring. Do you know how hard that is? You know I love me some clogs, ya’ll! And even though I don’t buy, I still look. Dansko has some nice styles this year, and I may break down after Vegas and order. I really link the Sonja, and since shipping is free for orders over $100…..

Sigh. I should have kept that shoe monster firmly IN the closet. You can blame Ang. She’s the one who told me about the Danskos.

Waiting Rooms

October 23, 2007 at 1:39 pmTag: Crocheting

are great places to stitch, but I am geting tired of them. It seems like I have been in one constantly for the past few weeks. In fact, my friend Ang. greeted me over IM this morning with: “dentist or eye doctor this morning?” I just giggled and told her that I got to stay home today. So far, I have not gotten much done, but I am enjoying just being here with no agenda. I’d love to be able to tell you I had finished up C cubed, but that’s not the case. I do have a meeting tonight and again on Thursday, so it will get plenty of air this week.

Online Craft Club Show and Tell #7

October 19, 2007 at 8:45 amTag: Online Craft Club

It’s the blanket again, yo! I totally think people should send me gifts for perseverance, ykwim? And although I said last week it had turned off cool, that was just a cruel cosmic joke. It will never be truly cool here again, and if I plan to finish this blanket, I need to book one of those Artic cruises. It’s just crazy, I tell you, crazy! Anyway, let’s see her, shall we?

Yep, that’s a thick grey band at the bottom, LOL! And since my mom gave me all that yarn, I can keep on for one more week, provided I don’t pass out from the heat!

~~~~~~~~
I hope you enjoyed my show and tell. I’d love it if you play along with me. Here’s what you do:
Take a picture of your current project, whatever that happens to be. Or maybe one you recently finished. Or the materials for the one you are about to start. Let’s say materials for a project in whatever state it happens to be in at the time you snap it. On Friday, post the picture and tell us about your project. What you did, or what you are going to do. How much you are enjoying it, or hating it. You know–show and tell.
Q and E
October 17, 2007 at 4:45 pmTag: Crocheting, Parenting
So, C Cubed and I accompanied Batman to the Surgi-Care this morning, and I got less than 5 rows done, but for those of you who are waiting to hear a report, the report is: he did great.
I also really like this doctor. He’s a very friendly guy, and he has freckles and just looks so fun and happy in what he does. I doubt I make him any hand knit socks, (he’d have to do a couple more surgeries for that, I think), but I doubt I’ll be sicking (sp?? spellchecker says this is correct, but I am not sure) a personal injury attorney on him or anything either. He looks like a big kid, LOL.
As for C Cubed, it takes a lot more work to get it to visibly grow, and so it’s getting more difficult for it to hold my interest. I am going to try to stick it out though. I think I am tired of bouncing around from project to project so fast I give us all whiplash. OTOH, I think I am tired of looking at this for now. OT3H, I am not going to get where I went before and stop stitching because the project at hand is not what I want to work on. OT4H, I do need to at least refrain from any new projects. OT5H, I only have 2 hands.
Is it possible to sue a blogger or even oneself for injuries related to spastic crafting? If so, I know some Richmond lawyers who’d like a piece of that action.
That would be “no”
October 16, 2007 at 12:59 pmTag: Crocheting
So I was at the dentist this morning, with the log cabin blanket, which I guess we can rename “Current Constant Companion” or C Cubed. Haha, I like that, C Cubed. In fact, that may be my name, now and forever, for the current project.
“Let me get my C Cubed and I’ll be right there.”
“Where is my C Cubed?”
Oh, I slay myself. Of course, this will only work for projects that can go with me. But anyway. And while I am digressing, click over to Midlife Musings to find out how and why my mouth is worth more than diamonds. But shouldn’t it be pearls? Oh well. The point is that I am putting my money where my mouth is and not liking it one little bit.
So. At the dentist. And he says, “Can you get one of those made for me before your next visit?” (That’s a month or so). Bwahahahahahaha. Not for all the gold rings in Solomon’s mines, dear sir. That would be “no”.
Online Craft Club Show and Tell #6
Back for an incredible fourth week, we have the log cabin blanket. The thing is actually big enough at this point to provide some warmth while I work on it, which was nice last night, when the weather finally turned off cool!
So, let’s review!
And now:
Yep, one more week, I think. And then I will be out of yarn scraps.
Yarn Stuffs
October 11, 2007 at 8:53 amTag: Crocheting, Knitting
IMG 0601
Sweater started for Spidey. Who knows who it fits now.
IMG 0602
Sonnet for me. I should maybe finish this soon, if I am taking it to Vegas.
IMG 0603
Hocks. This is like a project that will never end, and I think I am pretty much ok with that.
IMG 0604
Heirloom Squares Afghan for DD#1. I’ll have to order more yarn to finish it. I’m not ordering more yarn just now. I am sure you can understand why.
IMG 0605 1 2
The log cabin blanket, which we both know looks nothing like this now :)
IMG 0612
One single sock. Except I have two feet.
This is the last of the WIPs. Do you think I have enough yet? I promise this is all, not even kichler lighting would illuminate any more.
I don’t like WET
October 10, 2007 at 4:42 pmTag: Shopping
I got wet the other day. Quite unexpectedly, and also quite shockingly. I went to the kitchen sink, and I turned on the water, and the water came shooting out of the sprayer. Into my face. Yeah. I said what you just said, plus I have a bazillion kids who all laughed at me. It’s evidently time to replace the sprayer. We go through one every couple of years, it seems. I always buy the cheapest faucet set I can find, but I think I am actually wasting money. It’s probably time to go with a better quality set like these Kohler Faucets, because I am a knitter, and if I had been wearing something that shouldn’t get wet, I might have had a serious issue. Wanna make a grown knitter cry? Ruin her beautiful knitted something. And don’t even ask me how I know.
