Rattling my Cup

Ok, fellow stitchers, I need some help here. I’m organizing and walking in in The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk here in Bitty-burg, and I need some help. Please just click the banner and give up a little cash-ola. Just the amount you would fork out for one ball of marginal yarn, multiplied by all the folks who stop by here in a day can make a real difference. Please?

Bwhahahahahahah! I saw this today, and had a couple of good laughs. First at my own silly self, because my lack of booty is a serious joke in this house. I am so seriously without junk in the trunk. Or at least I was until last month, LOL!

Anyway, what I read was that BDUs make your butt look bigger. In fact, the actual words were “BeyoncĂ©-grade backside”. Now, I need you to know that I once wore BDUs daily, and I can attest that they are indeed enhancing. Unfortunately for me, when I wore Military Clothing, I was all about wanting to look less plush, not more. It was back in the day, when thin was all in, ykwim?

The second laugh came when I remembered Carla laughing at me when I was re-writing the HSY soaker pattern to add fullness to the bum. I called it bootilicious, not realizing there was a song out about that. I couldn’t figure out why she giggled everytime I said it. FTR, she laughed even harder after that.

Hmm, wonder if they still make them to fit me?

Ebay Rocks

So, I showed you some projects, decided which one to work on first, and then couldn’t find the pattern. I looked everywhere. Three times. I had almost decided to pick a different project, and then, behold the beauty of the internet. Ebay is my friend. And I hope I don’t have to use it again for awhile. Surely I haven’t misplaced any other patterns, right? You know what?? Just don’t answer that, ok?

Let’s Begin

I have no idea how many posts it will take, but it’s time to build a digital frame around the pictures of my crafty mess. I’ll talk about a few projects per post, and then use that info to build a page. Ok? ok! I was going to try to be all organized, but, uh, I think I’ll just talk about stuff more or less in the order I took the pictures. This first batch is all [tag]cross-stitch[/tag] projects. There will be several batches of cross-stitch projects. 8)

This is the start of the Baby Jesus from a nativity set. I may or may not finish it, though I would love to have a soft (read that unbreakable) nativity. Crossstitching 15 itty bitty peple, however……. not so high on my list.

IMG 0572

Beach Scene, first of a set. I still love this piece, and I will finish it. I need to warm up on some other stuff first though, to get back in the swing of cross-stitching, because it’s on linen which is a little more difficult that working on Aida.

IMG 0577

Carousel horse. I started this one for TheClone back in the day. I’ll finish it, because she’ll still like it, and it’s too close to done not to compete it. Pretty much all that remains is to fill in the outline of the horse. After I find the pattern, or course. I think I have just decided to move this to the first tier.

Wreath, part of a four season set. I think this is summer, but I am not positive. I don’t know if I will finish it or not, it depends on if I love it when I get to it.

Wreath, I think. If I’m right in that, then it’s spring from the set I just mentioned, and those same notes apply.

No Clue

You know, sometimes I have totalk about stuff, and I have no idea what it is. Let’s face it, if it doesn’t involve fiber of some sort, ink, or need feeding, I probably don’t know all at much about it. I could learn about it, if I were so inclined, but usually, I’m just not. No need to lie.

BUT! Sometimes, along with these obscure phrases, I am given talking points. Talking points are great, because they allow me to mention intranet software and then say

  • integration to backend systems
  • total manage hosted solution
  • website content management
  • group scheduling
  • business email solution

and I look smarter than I am to the casual observer. Of course, you guys weren’t fooled for a minute, were you?

Have you ever read a word out of context, and thought you knew all about it? And then found out that you were way off base? That’s what happened to me this morning. I saw “wickedtext”, and I just assumed it was something to do with cell phones. Umm, no, actually, it’s not. Instead, is about customized poster art. You send them a picture and some words, any words you want, and they make a ………… a……….. thing. Like a photo mosaic, only different. You should really click through to see it. The words become the picture, each letter being hand colored to create the image. Up close, you see the words, far away, you see the picture. Did you see where I said poster? It’s big! You’ll need to print it at the Office Depot or It’s wicked cool, and I totally understand the term WickedText now.

Oh, they also have a reseller program. You’ll find the link for that at the top of the page, along with some other cool poster art options. They have one that’s binary. Yep, you favorite picture, rendered in green ones and zeros. Seriously, do check it out, it’s something you just have to see to believe.

Storage Idea

So, how was your weekend? I stayed busy, busy, busy. Saturday was a trip to Fort Caswell where this happened:

And then from there it was out to the ball park where there was this:

And then there was and a movie with the fam and this:

Sunday was church, a nap and then shopping for this*:

And also these:

I got these to help with the organizing of the bazillion craft projects. I figured they’s be good sized for tool storage and also the materials. Especially for the cross-stitch, I think I could get the pattern, the piece and everything else I needed in there, too.

Today, I’ve been dentist-ing and cleaning. I do have a picture of the former, but I am saving it for a slow day. As for the latter, that’s why I can’t tell you if my storage idea works or not.

*Those are not my feet and those are not my shoes. They are, however, someone’s first high heels, so I thought they were worth a mention.

Online Craft Club Show and Tell #3

Welcome to the third edition of the [tag]Online Craft Club[/tag] [tag]Show and Tell[/tag].

Wow, ya’ll. I am still reeling from digging out all those WIPs. I still do not have a plan for tackling it, and I have worked a bit on a couple of things. I do plan to build a page, I wasn’t kidding about that, but I’m a busy gal, and so I have not done it yet. So, I had to debate, AGAIN, what to talk about, and the tear-it-out-and-re-do Log Cabin won.

Here’s what it looked like on Wednesday,

and here’s what it looked like about 8:30 last night. I’m ripping the square (which isn’t laying all that flat anyway) as I go.

IMG 0614

I’m actually combining two pieces into one, and I first talked about that here, except it was only one piece then.

I hope you enjoyed my show and tell. I’d love it if you play along with me. Here’s what you do:

Take a picture of your current project, whatever that happens to be. Or maybe one you recently finished. Or the materials for the one you are about to start. Let’s say materials for a project in whatever state it happens to be in at the time you snap it. On Friday, post the picture and tell us about your project. What you did, or what you are going to do. How much you are enjoying it, or hating it. You know–show and tell.

Just copy & paste the code below the graphic and get crafty with me!

Be sure to come back and leave a comment so we know where to find you!
