New Lights

When I went shopping last week, I got some of those new fangled light bulbs. The twisty ones, where 13 watts equals 60 watts in a standard bulb. They were pretty spendy comparatively, at almost 10 bucks for 6 of them, but they are supposed to save $38 EACH in electric cost over teh 5 year life of the bulb. I had DH install one in the bathroom, and I gotta say, that bulb is actually brighter that the standard bulb that is in there. I’m well pleased with the purchase, provided the bulbs last as long as they are promised to.

5394PLNeedless to say, because you know me, and therefore you know that if someone can think about buying something, I will do so, I’m now thinking about how I’d like to revamp the lighting in the bathroom. Right now, we have regular fixtures on the wall, and by regular I mean the kind that you typically find on ceilings. I don’t think that was a very clever plan, but that’s what it was like when we bought the house, and we haven’t done anything about it until now. I think this one on the left would look good in there. It’s by Hinkley Lighting. The moderately feminine look appeals to me, but it would also mesh well with the seaside theme I already have going on in there. Of course, it goes without saying that there is no hookup in the middle of the vanity area, but rather, one on either side.
