Ghostwriting

Do you think that every book you read is written by the author that’s listed on the cover? I used to. It’s quite a common misconception. But there are many, many people who have an excellent idea for a book or a screenplay, but lack the time or the ability to write it in sale-able form. That’s where a ghostwriter comes in. Ghostwriters tell your story in a way that will get it published. Many celebrities and famous business people use this type of service. The Penn Group has more information on the whole process. They were the first in the ghostwriting business, and have the resources to get your book in the right hands.

If you are a writer, you should know that top ghostwriters can earn upwards of $50,000 per project, and the projects generally take about 6 months. That’s a cool income for doing something you love. Now, I have can finally explain to my children why I press good writing skills in school.

Hi
I’ve just finished a post about ghostwriting at my blog.

Then I came to your site via Casual Keystrokes, and here you have a post on the very same topic. Talk about coincidence!

Thanks for the tip about the Penn Group. I’ll go back and update my post with a link to you.

I’m one of the writers taking part in the current discussion on ghostwriting. You might find the conversation interesting in light of this post.

Thank you for the link, Yvonne. I found your thoughts very interesting. I’m still chewing the idea over. I don’t think it’s something I personally have time for, but I do think it’s a field that could be used successfully by others. I was a little disappointed in the Penn site, only because I could not find any information about how to get started.

Lillie, Thank you for the invitation to read this conversation. I’m really not informed enough about the market to make any firm comments one way or the other regarding the ethics, except in the instance of Christian books. Because faith is what it is, I admit I would feel cheated to find out that I relied on for help in the journey was not written by the person to whom it was attributed. When I read a book like that, I’m asking for that person’s advice. Not someone else’s.

Okay, one more. I also think it’s unethical to use a ghost writer for a school assignment. Help like you gave, no problem. But to actually have someone else do all the work, no.

I love to write.. though I’m a bit shy about it. I have a great story in my head, maybe I should hire a ghostwriter. ;)

I love to write, too. You’d never guess it from the number of blogs I have, LOL!
