Jerks

Ok, after all the cute stories about my kids, let me rant on the neighborhood kids a bit. I have a fence around my back yard, and for the most part, I keep my kids in it. Unlike my “neighbors“. Recently, some results of parental malfeasance delightful children decided to use my mailbox as a rock target. My mailbox now has several decent sized holes in it, and the door is not attached, though I did stick it in the mailbox to shield the mail from rain. Does the mailguy put the mail UNDER the door? NO, but that’s another rant for another day.

Now, it was the cheapy box that the PO gave us when we moved in here: plain black plastic, and we had to stick some number stickers on it. Given the lack of sturdiness, I am considering getting a better mailbox this time, and I was looking at putting a house marker on it instead of the sticky numbers. What do you think? Too classy for such an obviously red-neck neighborhood?

And don’t even get me started on the neighbor I saw yesterday scraping his food scraps into MY backyard. Oops, three rants for the price of one. Guess I am on a roll.

That’s awful! I hope my kids never do anything like that. I don’t take vandalism lightly…..and the house marker? Could it be serioulsy messed up/destroyed if the neighborhood kids keep throwing rocks? I’d probably do whatever would cost me less in money and aggravation in the long run, though the house marker is very nice and classy.
