Where am I supposed to put it?

DD#5 is needing a dresser. Or is it DD#4? Well, one of them certainly needs a dresser, because right now they are sharing one, and it is stuffed to the groaning point. I have no idea where I will put another dresser mind you, since they both sleep in my room. So that means I have a queen bed, a toddler bed, a pack and play, 2 dressers, a highboy, a bookcase, a changing table AND a night stand in there, but nevertheless, I’m looking at kids furniture.

Yeah. I can hear you laughing from here. You remember the movie [tag]Aladdin[/tag]? The Disney one, with Robin Williams as the Genie?

itty bitty living space
That’s us.

She dressed herself

Impeccable [tag]fashion[/tag] sense mixed with dashing [tag]personal style[/tag] and amazing powers of self expression. She’s got mad skillz, ya’ll.IMG 0356

Did I say I was going to knit?

I forget. In truth, I’ve used my sit down time to do other stuff, but I am hopeful to get my [tag]knitting[/tag] back on my plate soon. I know I always say that, but there is just so much to be done. all. the. time. It’s always that way, isn’t it? Maybe tonight, I say, and then I either putter on the ‘puter or am too tired to concentrate on the lace.

This night, I mean it. I will knit. In the meantime……..stay tuned!

Picture Book

No, I’m not posting any pictures, LOL! But I did read about a coffee table book that sounds intriguing. [tag]Phaidon Design Classics[/tag] details a collection of 999 brilliantly designed objects. Beginning with Chinese scissors from the 1600s, and continuing on through contemporary items, the three volumes promise to entertain for hours. I’d love to get my hands on this set, but at $103.25, I’ll have to just wish for it I think.

Yarn Harlot

Of course I read the [tag]Yarn Harlot[/tag]. Is there a knitting blogger/blogging knitter who doesn’t? Incredible wit, lightening speed and a schedule that makes me think I ought to just suck up and deal with my own measly 24 hours keep me coming back. Do be warned: she may be the harlot, but at least she’s not a hooker like me 😛

Fibery goodness

I unpacked my [tag]sock yarn[/tag] today. Remember when I did the stash page re-do? Well, I put a lot the sock yarns in shoe boxes on top of a bookcase. Talk about sensory deprivation! I cleaned that bookshelf today, and the first step was unpacking those shoe boxes of sock yarn and putting them back on the sock yarn shelf. Once again, I have a riotous panopoly of colorful goodness to rest my lustful gaze upon. Aaaah, the simple pleasures of life.

Fix yourself right up

You know that I knit for my kids, and you’ve seen the pics (and you still can since I found and corrected my wee HUGE oversight. You also know they come in various shapes and sizes. One thing I try to stress to my kids is to just eat moderate amounts of whatever they want, but stop when they are full. I do have a couple I have to remind that [tag]eating[/tag] is really not supposed to be a hobby, ykwim? And I am always laughing at my sons, since they seem to require a minimum of three breakfasts each day.

But I seriously never want my kids to fall into the trap that so many kids do of worrying constantly about body image. It seems that at ever-younger ages our youth are turning to items like Fat Burner to try to be unhealthily slim. I have a kid who is slim that way naturally, and it’s no picnic. She’s the hardest to dress. If it is small enough to fit around her, it’s way too short, and this applies to everything except underwear. She loves for me to knit for her the most, I think, because when I knit it, it fits correctly.

That’s the great thing about handmade: just the color, size and shape you need!

Houston, we have a problem!

Why didn’t ya’ll tell me all my [tag]pictures[/tag] were gone?????? This is the kind of thing a knitter needs to know! I’ll set about finding them this afternoon. I could of sworn I re-uploaded those things! Sigh.

Edited: nope, I am a moron. I did NOT re-upload the album. But it’s fixed now :)

You will also notice that the sidebars are empty. I did that one on purpose, though. The links will come back one by one as I re-introduce the blogs I read to you.
