Sorry I’ve been a little lax yesterday and today with the knitting content. I’m still working on the socks for Grandmother. It’s bittersweet. We just found out that Grandmother has Organic Brain Syndrome. By the time I get these socks finished, she won’t even realize what I’ve done. Heck, she may not even realize who I am. I should have finished them months ago.

I knit professionally for several years, but have become so busy that I only work on consignment now. I have also taught several knitting classes. I do all my knitting with two sticks and some string, and do not even own a knitting machine. I also crochet quite a bit, and used to embroider, cross-stitch and needlepoint. I have other non-fiber related hobbies as well.

I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s devastating to watch our elders deteriorate over time. Still, some part of her may know and recognize that gesture of love. We can’t know, can we? At the very least her feet will be warmed by your handiwork and your love. I hope you can bring yourself to finish them.
