Mama and I are increasingly worried about [tag]Grandmother[/tag], and whether or not she is actually eating. The staff at the nursing home charts that she eats “fifty percent”, seventy-five percent” and even the occasional totally unbelievable “one hundred percent”. Yet, when we visit her hands are shaking so badly that she can barely hold a cup! I watched her yesterday, in fact, and she can no longer hold a spoon or fork like we do, but rather rests it across her forefinger and holds it in place with her thumb. A few days ago, I actually fed her, just so she would get something to eat! Folks, I know my grandmother. If she could truly feed herself enough to get her nutritional needs met, she would never allow me, of all people, to feed her. Someone else perhaps, but not me.

I’d love to be able to put a hidden camera built in recorder both in her room and in the lunch room. These new spy cameras are simple to set-up, and very hard to detect, since there is no wired *or* wireless connection to a vcr. In fact, the only way to detect them is with a tool made by the same company.

Now, ya’ll know me, and you know I would not ordinarily use such a device. But, the fact is this facility is being paid a pretty good chunk of change to care for Grandmother, and I think they are falling down on the job. I think checking up on whether or not you are getting what you are paying for is a valid use of a [tag]hidden camera[/tag].
