Stashing

Couple of additions to show you today.

When Shelly sent me yarn for hocks, there were these balls big enough to use for socks so, I held them out. This is the only part of that box of yarn that is going in the stash count. I didn’t count the rest going in, and I won’t count it going out.

Here is what I picked up at the yarn store yesterday. There are 2 balls of Encore for the trim on DD#5′s blanket. A ball of black feathery stuff for a hat for DD#2, and 2 balls of fixation for me. Then there are three balls of oasis for a shawl for Granny’s Christmas present. Now, boys and girls, I make it a point to *never* knit presents, because I don’t like that kind of deadline stress. But…..I feel compelled to do this. If you’ve been reading long, you know sometimes I just am basically told to “do such and such”, and I listen, and there is always a reason. So, Granny’s getting a hand knit shawl this year, for reasons unknown to me at this time. That’s ok, I discovered long ago that I really don’t have to know everything. I’ll be swatching for that this afternoon, I hope.

Now, an explanation: Ya’ll know I am trying to beat the stash monster, yet here is yarn. Well, all this is for stuff I am planning for the very near future. There is no “just because” yarn here, and that is a real achievement for me. Nor is there yarn for projects way down the road. I actually went in the yarn store with a *list*. Can you believe it? Me either, but there it is.
