Ain’t Nothing’ Wrong with the Ra-a-d-i-o
Now that I have that tune stuck in your head, it’s time for a story!
When we moved here from Topeka, it was sorta unplanned. DH was out of work, and we came home for a Christmas visit, and just…stayed. We lived with my parents for a few months until we got our own place. Relax, I only had 4 kids with me then
I called my friend and said basically, “we’re staying, can you watch the house for us til we get back to close it up?”
While my earthly possessions were in her care, she allowed her sister to rob my home, and also to steal my van. Some friend, yes? Anyway, the sister’s boyfriend took the van wild turkey hunting, and a turkey crashed in the front windshield. What do I mean by crashed in? Well, when I picked it up from the impound lot (for which privilege *I had to pay $75*), the windshield was pushed in in the middle about a foot, all the glass was webbed and shattered, except a tiny space I could see through. I drove it to the house at about 20 miles perhour, with little pieces of glass falling down onto the dash all the way, and we loaded it immediately on the dolly.
And the SMELL! Oh my word, he’d had a dead turkey in there, and then the thing sat , and the gaminess was incredible!
What has this to do with the radio? Well, that guy had put a state-of-the-art in car audio system in there. My radio ROCKED! I had the coolest radio in town, in my junked out, windshield shattered, smelly van. The irony was not lost on me.
If you are in the market for in car audio systems, the folks at Dixons can hook you up. They are an online only store, and carry top brands that you’ll recognize: Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC, Panasonic, and Blaupunkt. They also carry tvs, and other appliances. Enjoy!
