Run on about politics? You?? Never!

No, it's the one for dh for Christmas. I work on it right in front of him, he doesn't know it's for him. It's for our bed, he asked for one years ago.

urgh, well. My hero, Russ Feingold said "yea" and I'm disappointed, so I'll be watching the Madison newspapers online to see if they print his explanation of why that vote was a Y vs. a N.
Schumer (my sen here in NY) has said, as have the others who gave a nay, said it had nothing to do with the politics, but everything to do with the person and how he conducted himself during the hearings. As Schumer said, Roberts is a very successful and GOOD lawyer and was able to answer questions without answering them (lots of word play) He got the nay from those who felt he didnt answer their questions.
And lets face it, every republican in Washington falls in line when it comes to their president. If he propped up Saddam Hussein as the nominee, they would all vote for him, its all about "stickin' with the party"
As for Obama? Just because he gave a nay, means you lost respect for him? Really. Thats interesting, its not as if his no vote ever had any bearing on the outcome. We all knew Roberts would unfortunately be confirmed. Don't you make decisions every day that some people don't necessarily agree with. I mean, look how Feingold voted. I'm disappointed, but I'm still planning on campaigning for him come the next dem primary! :)

Anyway, I personally think its a sad day for America. And that is ultimately why I have such "issue" with the conservatives that run this country. See we liberals, we like a level playing field, its why we usually nominate middle of the road judges. The conservatives, no, they don't like that. They want everything their way or no way at all. So tell me again which judges are activists? That has always been a load of crap.

As for Delay, I do know the saying "a ham sandwich could get indicted". And I hear the rightie pundits screaming that there is no evidence. Just an indictment, and his stepping down as leader is justice. The man is so slimy and dirty. No wonder he's "effective", he bends to rules and lies his arse off to get things done. The man has faced so many ethics charges WITHIN congress, I mean, doesnt THAT tell you something?

And I saved the best for last... Beautiful blankie!

Thanks ladies! I am kinda liking it. I really try to be avant garde, you know, but I think at heart, I am 95% kitsch. Just can't help but love the homey looking stuff. If the wrinkle wash out, I'm good with it. Hope dh feels the same ;)

That is a real interesting pattern! I like it. Right now I'm wondering who'll be selected for the next position and I know "whoever" will be met with a challenge - I hope they will be able to handle themselves as well as Roberts did.
