IRAQ THE MODEL

IRAQ THE MODEL

Today, American forces in the city of Kerbala officially handed over security responsibilities to Iraqi army and police units in the city.
This makes Kerbala the second Iraqi province that undergoes this transition of power after a similar step was taken in Najaf nearly two months ago.
The event which was attended by military and civil officials from both parties also included a parade for the Iraqi units that are going to assume responsibility for peace keeping tasks in Kerbala.
Unfortunately no web links are available at the moment as the only source that reported the news was Al-Hurra TV. However web links will be added to this piece once available.

Why does the MSM refuse to pick this stuff up? Oh, right, it doesn’t fit into their predermined outcome of failure in Iraq.

i hear ya! the liberal media is so amazingly skewed and skews the news so much. sadly, people believe what they hear rather than searching out other (more accurate) news sources.

btw, where’d you find your Bible quote of the day? i’m not sure if it is a feed or something you do yourself :O)

hmm, well, what drives the media is consumerism. They dont have a political agenda against Iraq. In fact anyone who thinks the media is liberal isnt looking closely enough. Its quite the contrary (from my side AS a liberal) so maybe they are “right there in the middle” and we only pick up on our own biases? “Liberal Media” is a meme pounded home by right wing pundits…nothing more. Amanda, really, it DOES go both ways. Pay closer attention and you’ll be able to pick it up.
Now set that aside. The media is LAZY. Its like they think we stupid Americans can’t concentrate on more than one “big story” at a time. They zero in on that “topic of the day/week/month” and do it to death from every possible direction.

One thing that was said last week on Bill Maher’s show on HBO…he was questioning Andrea Mitchell of ABC about why the media seems to think you have to cater to both sides to be “fair”. Sometimes the news just isnt that way at all and it completely distorts the truth.

In any case, my point. If you don’t like what the media is doing, write letters to them, write letters to the editor, write letters to their advertisors.
Just sitting and complainging about it does nothing to change it. Its one of the problems with capitalism dear.

When was the last time the MSM reported a victory in Iraq? This is a *major* success on the path to getting us out of there.

They are more than happy to report any deaths in combat. But did anybody report on the little girl Deuce-4 got out of there to New Mexico for heart surgery? Did MSM tell us about the playground our soldiers built for the children *on their own time*?
